By Kavit Haria Over the past few years or so, Ive had the chance to mingle and meet many successful people. Actually, many of them I have known for years and I meet them regularly, but I guess I had just taken the fact that they were successful for granted. When I realised I could learn so much from them, and see what they do to be successful, maybe I can be successful too. I ask all of them a simple question: How can I become successful like you? and the reply I always get is along the lines of How successful you are is dependent on the quality of your relationships. This has got me thinking and pondering on the topic of RELATIONSHIPS for a long time now, and people who know me well enough, have always said that they can see a change in me, when they do. And because the Law of Attraction plays a crucial role in my life, I think that if I am Deliberately Creating or attracting more of what I want then how can I maintain good relationships with people who may not appreciate what I want? How can I have what I want while at the same time allow the other person to have what they want? Especially if what we each desire something different? HARMONY If youre in a relationship (it doesnt have to be a personal one!), one of the main things you tend to look out for is harmony. In my house, if I leave things lying around, I need to take into consideration how it may affect someone else, but if its just in my room, then I dont. The only way to get what you want, while the other gets what they want to is through Clear Communication. Most disagreements come about NOT by deliberately disagreeing, but by being in DEFAULT mode and not understanding what the other person is wanting. Here are 4 steps to Crystal Clear Communication that will help maintain the intention of being in harmony. 1. Identify your desire: Become crystal clear about what you want and why you want it. 2. Effectively communicate your desire and intention to the other person. 3. Communicate segment by segment. Take time to be sure you are fully communicating and fully understood. 4. Understand your emotions and how you are feeling as this will help you tell whether you are in harmony, or not, and what to do to move towards to it. One ‘trap’ I’ve noticed is that I often think I already know how a person is going to respond to my communication–and according to Law of Attraction, if I think they are going to react strongly, they most likely will. The trick is to BELIEVE that the Universe wants to give me the desire of my heart AND maintain HARMONY in my relationships. How? Ah, that’s the fun part. The Universe has an infinite number of ways to achieve this feat…that’s half the fun…wondering and watching how it will work out. But why am I telling you this as a musician? Well, its a success secret thats really worked with me, and Ive received so much abundance in terms of prosperity, money, wealth, and much more by creating harmonious relationships where people build awareness, trust and love for each other that they work with each other in the exchange of energies. By Charles Brown Jack Trout succinctly says, Price is often the enemy of differentiation. Unfortunately, price is also the easiest thing for lazy marketers and copywriters to brag about. The trap, of course, is that unless you have the muscle of a WalMart, you will eventually lose every price war. Competitors dont usually play dead, so they will come back and advertise even lower prices, forcing you both into a death spiral of price cutting. But differentiation, despite the fact that it requires creativity and work, allows you to side-step the price war. Here is a list of triggers I use to come up with ways to differentiate a product or service: Start by focusing on your non-price benefits. Does your product or service save money? Does it makes someones life or work easier? Does it improve how others regard that person? Single out the most beneficial benefit. Of all your benefits, which one will make the biggest positive difference in someones life? Approach your product or service from the viewpoint of your prospective customer or client. Make a very long list that begins with the words, This widget is for the person who wants ____. Now make a companion list that is about, This widget is for the person who does not want ____. Dont worry if both your want and your dont want lists overlap. It is OK if some items on your lists are mirror images of each other. You never know whether the positive want or the negative dont want version will resonate with your buyers. In fact, some customers will connect with one and others will connect with the other, so dont close any doors. Make another list of every problem your product or service solves. View what you offer as the solution to someones problem. Everything that has ever been written on the subject of business success can be summed up with the words of J. Paul Getty, Find a need and fill it. What is your market crying out for? What needs are not being filled by your competitors already? Dont claim to be the best, the most experienced, or even that youve been in business since 1776. These things dont differentiate since everyone claims to be the best in some way. Your message will just get lost in all the noise. But you can specifically explain WHY you are the best, if you can give examples and evidence without using the word best or any similar words. For example, if you are working on a copywriting assignment for a hotel chain, explain in detail the step-by-step process your staff follows to make sure every room is immaculately clean. Contrast this to the steps your competitors take. Now you are saying your rooms are the cleanest without using those words. Follow the copywriters Golden Rule: Dont tell them, SHOW them. Ask questions. As anyone who has ever been watching TV and had a small child come up and ask a question can verify, questions have the ability to interrupt our thoughts and pull them in a different direction. Brainstorm as many questions you can pose directly to readers in your ads, website or sales letters that will single out your most exceptional benefits. Here are some examples: How long are you going to wait until you move into your dream home? Or, What can you do right now to help your child get better grades in school? Havent you settled for second-class service long enough? It takes hard work to differentiate your product or service, but the rewards can be great. When you are unique and different (in a good way) the market pays attention to you. You cant win the game of competing on price. At least not for long. But you can win if you stand for something no one else stands for. Differentiation is a winning game. COPYRIGHT(C)2006, Charles Brown. All rights reserved. It covers all your expenses like airline bills, lodging and boarding expenses etc. It comes at a cheaper rate of interest than your credit cards. The advantage of holiday loans over credit cards is their low rate of interest and repayment term. A holiday loan has a fixed repayment period and lower rate of interest as against a credit card which drags you to a vicious cycle of repayments and revolving credits. Due to increase in global tourism many people are choosing foreign locations for vacationing. This has made many lending institutions offer cheap holiday loans. The interest rate of holiday loans depends on various factors like your financial position, your willingness or capability to provide collateral and most importantly your credit score. Borrowers who are in a position to offer collateral can get holiday loans at a much lower interest rate than borrowers who don’t have collateral. Even if you have a bad credit record there are lenders who can consider your case and approve an adverse credit holiday loan. But they will charge a little more interest in such cases. By Jim Hanson Kenai fishing has a reputation among sportsmen everywhere as some of the best fishing in the world. Located in beautiful south central Alaska, the Kenai Peninsula is home to, of course, the world famous Kenai River and is dotted with many secluded lakes and ponds perfect for Kenai fishing. The area has many varieties of salmon, dolly varden, rainbow trout, black bass, arctic char, sockeyes, and many other kinds of fish. A Kenai fishing trip is the key to a real Alaskan adventure vacation. In 2004 Field & Stream magazine named this area North Americas number one fishing hotspot, and for good reason. The Kenai River has been home to many record breaking and noteworthy catches. The world record King Salmon catch that topped the scales at just over 97 pounds was caught by Les Anderson, a long time Soldotna, Alaska resident, while Kenai fishing. It was several hours before the fish was officially weighed and recorded and many fish and game experts have agreed that the King Salmon was probably well over 100 pounds when he was caught. Soldotna now holds an annual King Salmon Derby, and the next person out Kenai fishing who catches a King Salmon larger than Andersons, will also win $50,000 from the town. Not only does the area boast of much natural beauty and many record breaking catches- it has an unusually long fishing season as well. This not only makes Kenai fishing popular among anglers but helps keep the Kenai Peninsula from overcrowding, so you can enjoy the famous Alaskan solitude while on your Kenai fishing trip. With the popularity of Kenai fishing, it should be of no surprise that you will find many options to make your fishing trip one to remember. Whether you are a fly fisherman, saltwater fisherman, expert, or just starting out, you will find a guided fishing tour or charter that appeals to you and your level of experience. During Kenai fishing, you will find accommodations ranging from small fishing cabins, to world class resorts, and everything in between. By Sheri Zampelli There are two mental and emotional habits that will keep you struggling for years to come. These habits are: overreacting, and believing without thinking. I know you probably expected the two habits to be about food or exercise but the truth is, in order to acquire healthy food and exercise habits you must first establish mental habits that insure long-term success. Many people are stuck in a vicious cycle of all-or-nothing thinking when it comes to food and exercise. Healthy habits are not an enjoyable, integrated aspect of life. Instead, being healthy is something you tell yourself you have to do. Because you haven’t learned to enjoy healthy behaviors, you avoid them until there’s nothing else you can do but change. By then you are so mortified by your weight gain that you decide to do something drastic to get rid of it quickly. Many times, the very method you are using to solve your weight problem is actually creating the problem. For example, suppose you gained 3 lbs. over the weekend. Perhaps you fear that you must do something immediately. You are terrified that if you don’t do something, the weight will keep creeping up and up. So you decide to go on a fast until the three pounds are gone. First of all, fasting is a very drastic response to a 3 pound gain and secondly the mere act of fasting causes your metabolism to slow down thereby guaranteeing that you will struggle harder in the future! In this instance, overreacting is actually causing your weight problem. Here’s another example: let’s say you’ve gained 35 lbs. and none of your clothes fit. So you decide to start a serious diet…on Monday. In the meantime, you engage in a feast of ‘no-no’s’ where you consume 2-5x’s more fat and calories than your body can process. When you finally start your diet, you are already at a deficit. Mentally you feel like a failure. Physically, you have more weight to lose now than you did last week. Many people go off their diet within the first few weeks of starting. If this is the case, you are actually guaranteeing future weight loss struggles. You’d probably be better off if you’d decided to do nothing at all. Another habit that will make you fat and sabotage your life is: believing without thinking. Many times in our desperation or fear we believe and act on what we hear from others (especially authority) without question. Here’s an example: buying the good ol’ ‘Finish everything on your plate, there are children starving in Africa” line. People from age 8 to 80 have heard this line so many times that they blindly believe, accept and act on it without question. It’s true, children are starving in Africa. However, finishing everything on your plate only makes you the processing plant for excess food that is guaranteed to make you fat. Instead of putting leftovers in the trash or in the refrigerator, you put them in your body and your body has no choice but to turn excess food into fat. Meanwhile, the children in Africa are completely unaffected. They are still starving. Continuing to habitually finish everything on your plate is an example of how you literally create your weight problem. So if you’re ready to take the leap and stop the struggle now, here’s a few things you can do: * Chew each bite at least 10 times. Put your food or utensil down between bites. * Remember, your stomach is the size of your fist. * Stop when you feel satisfied or have eaten a fist-size portion. * Always leave something on your plate to de-program yourself from automatic eating. * When satisfied, stop eating. If you’re at a restaurant, push your plate to the edge of the table so the waiter will take it. If you’re at home, get up immediately and throw the food in the trash or put it in storage for another meal. * Acknowledge your strength and self-control. * Tell yourself, “I can do this.” In closing, you have the power to challenge your thoughts and take note of any beliefs that don’t work for you. The great thing about doing this type of self-inventory is that when you realize how you are creating your results, you can take different actions and get different results. Once you access and utilize your ability to make positive changes you will feel more powerful, less insecure and better able to accomplish your goals and dreams. By Sharon White With access to cheaper funds through GDR/ADR issues, Euro loans etc. big corporations are shying away from bank finance. This trend of disintermediation among corporate has caused the banks to focus on Retail portfolio for growth. Retailing makes sense from Risk Management perspective also since it reduces Concentration Risk. With the focus on Retail Banking, banks are giving market segmentation a serious look to identify the differences between groups of potential customers and to decide which products can be served to which groups. There are the following groups of banking customers:Self-Directed Planners. Well educated, slightly above average income, seek financial information from variety of sources and retain control of financial matters, frequently use financial products, open to borrowing, accept reasonable risk. Simplifiers. Less educated, less affluent, older, do not seek financial advice often, use fewer more basic products, prefer local banks, least open to borrowing, tolerate low risk only, not sensitive to price, prefer face to face contact. Fickle Shoppers. Average income, predominantly non working female, do not seek financial advice, use fewer more basic products, open to borrowing particularly on credit cards, accept reasonable risk, not so sensitive to price, prefer remote channels specifically ATM or telephone banking. Advice Seekers. Well educated, affluent, predominantly male, seek financial advice, heavy users of financial products, higher transaction frequency, tolerate higher risk, very sensitive to price, prefer face to face contact. When it comes to segmenting industry for lending Small & Medium Enterprises are the current favourites of both banks and RBI. There is increasing talk of banking sector getting transformed from large number of small banks to small number of large banks. The presumption is that there is a definite premium on size. But as long as they have a niche in customer service, small banks will continue to exist and thrive since banking is no assembly line manufacturing and is all about building and fostering customer relationships The article was produced by the writer of masterpapers.com. By Terry Blackburn Growing Spinach There are two main types of annual spinach: round or summer spinach and the prickly or winter spinach. Soil Preparation Spinach requires a rich fertile soil that has been well worked so that it is fine and crumbly yet one that retains moisture. The plants go to seed quickly on poor soil whilst sandy soil does not hold the moisture long enough to maintain the best growing conditions for spinach. It is a quick growing crop so can be inter-cropped with peas and beans or grown as a catch crop before planting out brassicas or leeks. When forking over the ground, dig in manure and compost to the rate of a bucketful to the sq. yd. After treading the ground to firm it and break down any lumps, apply fish manure at 4 oz. (120g) to the square yd., rake lightly over then add some bone meal and sulphate of potash as a dressing. Sowing: Summer Spinach Sow summer spinach in March. It is better to sow three Successional sowings at 2 weekly intervals. Make drills 1 in. deep and 1 ft. (30cm) apart and sow the seed thinly. These can be thinned three weeks later to 3 in. (76mm) apart. Thin again three weeks later so that 6 in. (15cm) is allowed between the plants. Those plants that are removed from this thinning will be just large enough to make a tasty dish when cooked and eaten whole. General Care It is very important that the crop is grown quickly so that it is tender. Water and hoe the plants regularly and feed with liquid manure. Top-dress the rows with nitrate of soda at the rate of oz. (15g) to the yard. Sowing: Winter Spinach Winter spinach can begin to be sown during August, and then make Successional sowings through until the end of September. Sow into a bed that is in a shadier position than those, which are sown in summer. It is an advantage to first soak the seeds in water the day before you intend to sow. If the soil is heavy and water retentive, then it is better to sow into raised beds to aid drainage. From November, the plants should be covered with cloches to give them protection. Harvesting Summer spinach should be picked whilst the leaves are young and tender; winter spinach, should have only the largest leaves removed throughout the winter, those plants that still remain at the end of winter will die Terry Blackburn. By Eddie Tobey Address labels are typically used for printing addresses and such things. You can use address labels with parcels or envelopes. The advantages of address labels are myriad. They look more professional than hand-written addresses. Also, if you are sending mail in bulk, labels can save you a lot of time. They are much less complicated to handle for automatic mail processing equipment, and invariably speed up delivery. Today, there are specific software applications for printing labels. These programs make printing labels a considerably easier process. It also allows you to print addresses from an address database, thus lessening the chances of errors. As far as parcels are concerned, labels are possibly the only way of professionally and accurately writing the address. With an envelope, you have the option of printing the address on the label or directly on the envelope. The benefits of using labels are numerous. Labels give greater flexibility. You can print labels with your return address and logo, and use them on parcels and envelopes, irrespective of their sizes. The labels are usually on standard-sized sheets, which are supported by printers without problems. With the envelopes, things are different. The envelopes vary in size, but not all sizes are supported by the printer. Labels are also timesaving when it comes to printing many addresses. Envelopes have to be printed one at a time. You can, however, print several labels in one go. Lastly, parcels and large envelopes cannot be used on a printer. That is where the value of labels comes in. Labels provides detailed information on Labels, Address Labels, Record Labels, Bar Code Label Printers and more. Labels is affiliated with Color Label Prints. By CD Mohatta Have you ever had this experience? You have dated some body few times. Both of you had great time together. You are making plans for the future. Everything seems to go smoothly. And suddenly your dating partner goes cold. The phones are not answered. The mails are not responded. No meetings are discussed, as if past never existed. Why this happened? This happens with many of us. Out of two partners, one takes a unilateral decision to break away and does not inform the other. There may be many reasons for going cold, including finding some body else. But is it worthwhile chasing the cold date any more? No. But most of the break away partners dont say so clearly and the change in relationship is not spelled out. That causes problem for a certain time. This is surely unethical. One should never behave like this. But you can do nothing about it. You have no option but to wait for some time and then ask straight question. Are we separate now? Are you no longer interested in meeting me? After getting a clear yes, begin again. Dont ponder and worry over why the earlier person behaved so strangely. Some people are like that. Imagine, if you had got married to somebody so unethical and unreliable? This kind of behavior certainly shocks. But there is no use. Try to recover as soon as you can. This time, be more careful selecting your new dating partner and hope for the best. By India Jordan Government career outlook predictions aren’t developed yet for the Virtual Assistance industry, whether that’s because it’s a relatively new field or because the tasks done by VAs are as varied as the VAs themselves remains to be seen. One has to examine similar fields and skill-sets to see how VAs will fare in the years to come. By looking at these similar fields, you can see that the growth outlook for Virtual Assistance is above average. The question of “Will this job still be around in 20 years?” can be answered by looking at the services that a specific VA is offering and closely-related “traditional” employment fields. The most important thing to remember, though, is to keep current with technology and software that can progress your business. If you only know outdated technology, then you and your business are outdated and your clients may go elsewhere for service. Keep adding to your services and learn everything you can about your niche market and what they currently need. With many businesses restructuring and downsizing (getting rid of middle managers), companies are utilizing more and more secretarial and administrative support staff to take over those duties. If you offer administrative support as a VA, and market yourself as an off-site solution to those downsizing companies, your “job security” looks pretty good. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you will have competition from on-site employees for these positions. If you offer more specialized services than administrative support, you have different chances for sustaining an ongoing career. Here are two examples: If you offer Public Relations (PR) services, your occupational outlook is rosy. With so many different types of organizations — such as businesses, nonprofits, universities, hospitals and more - looking for media specialists and PR specialists to do more than just “tell their story.” Creativity, initiative, good judgment and the ability to communicate effectively are some of the skills necessary to succeed in this job. There’s lots of competition in this role, but employment/contracts for PR specialists is expected to grow faster than average, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. If you offer Desktop Publishing services, your occupational outlook is also great. Many companies are beginning to outsource these services, as opposed to having in-house staff. With experience and/or a degree in graphic design or a related field, desktop publishers have a variety of different organizations to market themselves to. VAs offer an affordable alternative to hiring a graphic design firm. Whether you specialize in desktop publishing and graphic design or public relations or another niche specialty, it’s clear that Virtual Assistance is catching on and the VAs who are out there aren’t going anywhere. With more and more employers and companies looking to outsource projects turning to offsite personnel to fulfill these needs, the view of using “virtual” workers is changing. It’s no longer as common to hear objections such as “How do I know you’ll really be working?” when proposing using a VA to someone who never has before. Many people have heard of VAs now or know someone who uses theirs. In most cases, once someone has a VA on their team, they don’t turn back to in-house staff to fulfill those duties. To check out similar fields’ occupational outlooks, visit the Occupational Outlook Handbook (2006-07 edition) put out by the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics at http://www.bls.gov.
